In Spy Kids, Gregorio and Ingrid are two of the greatest secret agents in the world. They were sent on a mission to eliminate each other but ended up falling in love instead. They decided to retire from the world of espionage and focus on raising a family. Nine years later, their former colleagues start disappearing, and the Cortez family is called back into action.

When Gregorio and Ingrid are also taken, their children are the only ones who can rescue them. Their kids, Carmen and Juni, discover that their parents were actually spies and have to step up to become spies themselves. Armed with their own gadgets and training, Carmen and Juni embark on a dangerous mission to save their parents.

Along the way, they encounter Fegan Floop, a techno-wizard, and his evil sidekick, Minion.
