In the Viking town of Berk, the residents are gearing up for their annual winter holiday of Snoggletog. With their newfound alliance with the dragons, the town is filled with joy and anticipation. However, their merriment is short-lived when all the dragons, except for Toothless, suddenly disappear. Toothless, who relies on Hiccup for assistance, is unable to fly on his own without a prosthetic.
Determined to help Toothless regain his independence, Hiccup takes it upon himself to build a new prosthetic. However, to his surprise, Toothless takes off on his own before Hiccup can finish the task. As Snoggletog draws near, Hiccup realizes that he must uncover the dragons' secret and find a way to bring them back home.
